Why is it difficult to know the truth about historical events?

History and its events are what makes us today, our way of thinking, our culture, what to support and ignore. The question is, in all the abstract things we believe in, are all the moral values an specific society grew up with believable? Are the documents written on history's textbooks taken into account and the poilitics are the result of history impartial?
On the one hand, today's people should rely on past events which they were taught, except someone decides to start a vast and extensive investigation to really know what had happened, no one living nowadays had a self experience on the past so the most common attitude would be not to doubt about the events presented. Evidence might be consudered as the best example to rely on, nearly all the textbooks contain the same facts so why not to follow the statement written. Moreover, historical events are the basis of our ideologies, that would say politicians would not be capable to hide or distort  the truth of facts because thre can be an upcoming risk of turning into a fraud if so.
On the other hand, doubts may be present in the history books because some events are not fully developed or cannot be completely understood. Furthermore, information may get lost in crucial moments of an specific event. Evidence has the possibility of being altered, meaning that the facts are changed and maybe hidden. Likewisein politics, not only is history manipulated, they also use it as an advantage when it comes to preotest against other nations for self-convenience in order to get profit out of it.
In conclusion, historical facts are the cause of our today's ideology, culture and moral values. Questioning it is a huge challenge because plenty of material is requested, this action can be judged because it is like a self-convincing that our culture is a lie, anyway, asking for the truth is a right we all must know.
